Accounts Supervisor - Paul Rigby Ltd.

As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Supervisor to join our team and help drive financial excellence across the organisation.

Role Overview:
The Accounts Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the company. This position involves overseeing the accounting team, managing financial processes, and delivering timely and accurate financial information to support business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive accounting, possess leadership skills, and demonstrate a hands-on approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Oversight:
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial operations, including processing, reporting, and auditing.
  • Oversee month-end financial reviews, including General Ledger and Goods Received Not Invoiced (GRNI) reports.
• Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and development to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of team members.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Contribute to annual budgeting by providing financial data, monitoring spending, identifying variances, and recommending corrective actions.
• Cash Flow Management:
  • Maintain adequate cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements.
  • Approve disbursements, verifying accuracy of payments, and authorising transfers.
• Audit and Compliance:
  • Support the annual audit process by supplying necessary information and liaising with auditors.
  • Adhere to internal financial controls and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and management accounts.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement system enhancements to optimize financial processes and procedures.
• Financial Security and Confidentiality:
  • Safeguard company financial information by following best practices and internal protocols.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience in the automotive sector, including 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting requirements and budget management.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with accounting software; experience with Pinewood DMS is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance principles and accounting standards.
• Leadership Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, manage workloads, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.
