Here are a few questions that Hyundai believes a few people may have in regards to the new brand name pronunciation.
Has Everyone Been Pronouncing Hyundai Wrong?
We’re not suggesting that the pronunciation has been wrong, however the pronunciation was in the UK form. As the brand changes we felt it was the right time to adopt to the global pronunciation. The change is part of a range of activity to encourage people to stop and think about our brand in a new way.
Is 'Hy-un-dai' The Same As 'Hyun-dai?
Yes – we’re the same car brand with the same line-up of award-winning cars – we’ve just now adopted the more global pronunciation to celebrate our global heritage and innovation.
Do You Honestly Expect Me To Change The Way I Say Hyundai?
We have no expectation that everyone will swap to the new pronunciation. But we invite you to say it however you feel comfortable.
