The New Polestar 4 SUV

Polestar has expanded its award-winning electric SUV line-up with the introduction of the new Polestar 4 SUV, combining the sleek design and performance of the Polestar 4 with increased practicality and versatility for everyday driving. Now available to order in the UK, the new SUV starts from £54,750 and is offered with a choice of rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive powertrains.

The entry-level Rear Motor version produces 268 bhp and 343 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0–60 mph in 7.1 seconds, while offering an impressive 391-mile WLTP range. For drivers looking for more performance, the Dual Motor model develops 536 bhp and 686 Nm, with all-wheel drive and a rapid 0–60 mph time of just 3.8 seconds. Despite its additional performance, the Dual Motor version can travel up to 373 miles on a single charge under WLTP testing.

Charging is equally impressive, with the Polestar 4 SUV supporting DC rapid charging at up to 200 kW, allowing a 10–80% charge in around 30 minutes. At home, 11 kW AC charging can replenish the battery from 0–100% in approximately 11 hours. The SUV also features an energy-saving heat pump, designed to use excess thermal energy from the powertrain to help warm the cabin while preserving battery energy.

At 4,840 mm long, 1,556 mm high and with a 2,999 mm wheelbase, the Polestar 4 SUV offers considerably more room than its sleek exterior might suggest. Its luggage compartment provides up to 655 litres of capacity with the rear seats upright, expanding to 1,665 litres with the seats folded, alongside a 15-litre front storage compartment. Towing capacity is rated at up to 2,000 kg for Dual Motor models.

Technology remains central to the Polestar 4 experience. The SUV features a panoramic glass roof, 5G connectivity, wireless Apple CarPlay, Google services and over-the-air software updates. Its safety systems include 11 exterior cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors, alongside a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance and collision-avoidance technologies.

The result is an electric SUV that sits somewhere between a performance car and a family-friendly everyday vehicle – delivering the distinctive styling and rapid performance associated with Polestar, while adding the space, storage and towing capability expected from a modern SUV.
