With the introduction of Model Year 25, Volvo have released some updates regarding some of the new changes and updates to Model Year 25 cars. This article will explain all the important changes with the introduction of the new model year. We aim to update this article as we hear more.
Volvo have already begun the introduction of Model Year 25. In this article we will cover some of the more significant changes and updates for the new model year as Volvo make begin the transition from Model Year 24 to Model Year 25.
Production for Model Year 25 is expected to commence around April 2024.
Volvo XC40/EX40
EX40 Changes
Sand Dune is a warm, sand-coloured solid effect metallic with glass flakes that sparkle like sand in the sun.
Bright Dusk Exterior Colour - Removed
The branding 'Recharge' for the XC40 BEV will be renamed to 'EX40'
Range for all specification levels will gain an approximate 45 mile increase.
Core Specification Level Changes:
Twin Motor Core - Removed
Rear Tinted Windows - Removed
3-Pin 16amp charging cable - Removed
Rear Parking Camera - Standard
Centre console surround will now be matte charcoal
Chrome on car keys will now be matte
Roof Rails, Window Trims and Front Bumper Deco will now be matte charcoal
Chrome on the lower middle of the steering wheel will now be matte
New 19" (non-diamond cut) alloys wheels introduced
Interior lighting will gain rear reading/courtesy lights
Price now includes all exterior paint options

XC40 Changes
The XC40 trim level name 'Ultimate' will now be changed to 'Ultra' for Model Year 25.
The B3 & B4 Mild Hybrid Ultra will have the option to equip the Bright trim level variant.

- Blindspot Information & Cross Traffic Alert - Now Standard
- High Level Interior Lighting system - Now Standard
- 19" Alloy Wheels - Now Standard
- Connect Suede Textile/Mircotech upholstery - Now Standard
Ultra Specification Level Changes:
- 20" Alloy Wheels - Now Standard
- Leather-faced upholstery - Now Standard

Regarding Volvo's trim level names. For XC60 they are currently: Core, Plus & Ultimate but for Model Year 25 'Ultimate' will be renamed to 'Ultra'.
The 'Recharge' branding for Volvo Plug-In Hybrid's will be removed for the new model year.
Volvo will look to introduce two new powertrain variants, T6 Plug-In Hybrid for Core & B5 Petrol for Ultra in Bright.
If B.L.I.S (Blind Spot Information System) is important to you, then you will be happy to read that the 'Plus' specification level will come equipped with this feature as standard for the new model year.
For those cold UK winters, the heated front windscreen option will now be available on the 'Ultra' specification level. Please remember, if you do opt in for a drivers head-up display, this will remove the option for a heated front windscreen as both cannot be equipped at the same time.
The colour Thunder Grey will be removed, this is an exterior colour.
Just like XC60, the Ultimate trim level name will be renamed to 'Ultra'.
The 'Recharge' branding will also be removed from XC90 for Model Year 25.
Volvo will make changes to the following powertrains: B5 Petrol Ultra - Dark will now be added, B6 Petrol Ultra - Dark will be deleted.
