Unlike a branded 48V Mild Hybrid 'Hybrids', the MG3 Hybrid+ system allows the driver to drive on pure electric driving allowing for flexibility when it comes to choosing their fuel of choice.
The all-new MG3 features a 75kW 1.5L petrol engine and a 100kW electric motor as well as a separate generator which allows the all-new MG3 a much grater variety of different powertrain modes which the car will decided depending on driving conditions and a variety of other conditions. The modes the car will choose between are:
EV – Running on electric-only power for as long as charge allows
Series – Engine runs through to the generator, which powers the electric motor for drive
Series and Charge – Series driving, plus topping-up the battery when under low-load
Drive and Charge – Engine drives the wheels, while also charging the battery through the generator
Parallel – Both engine and electric motor power the wheels
The driver can also tailor the cars responsiveness with the choice of three driving modes: Eco, Standard & Sport.
The new MG3 Hybrid+ also comes equipped with a 3-speed automatic gearbox aimed at providing faster and smoother overall acceleration.
The all-new MG3 Hybrid+ comes equipped with a generous boot space of 293 litres which is a grater improvement over the previous MG3 (285 litres). You can expect to fit up to 3 regular sized suitcases making this MG3 Hybrid+ a great family car for those trips away from home.
When the rear seats lie flat, you receive even more space! The rear seats fold flush allowing you even more extended storage throughout the car.
The MG3 Hybrid+ adopts the incredible array of safety features from the award winning MG4 EV. These features are:
MG Pilot Safety Including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Emergency Lane Keep Assist (LKAS) and Adaptive Cruise Control.
You will also have the ability to use iSmart. This works the same as it would on the MG4 EV.
