The new Volvo V60, once again, performed extremely well at Volvo's crash centre and scored highly in NCAP's assessments. Scoring 96% for adult, 84% for child and 74% for venerable road users (pedestrians and cyclists) This is a decent improvement compared with the previous model V60 due to new safety features never seen before.
The V60 introduced the newest safety feature that shortly
after was included as an option across the XC40 range. Cross traffic alert with
full auto-brake alerts the driver of dangers approaching the path of the vehicle
when in reverse. As well as oncoming collision mitigation; a system that can detect oncoming traffic from up to100m away and apply full braking force if needed.
