Polestar Engineered Volvo Cars

Polestar has been Volvo's performance racing car company since 1996 formerly known as 'Flash Engineering' later to be rebranded in 2005 to 'Polestar'.

Alongside producing performance parts and optimisations for current Volvo Cars, Polestar recently have launched their own fully-electric Polestar 1 and Polestar 2 high performance vehicles under their own badge to compete with brands such as Tesla Motors.

In 2018 the Polestar Engineered division within Volvo Cars was announced. This consists of an extra trim level only available in the Twin Engine T8 PHEV variant of the S60, XC60 and V60 models (uk market)

Powerful electric drivetrains​

Producing ​over 400 bhp with instant electric response, the Polestar Engineered range offer an exciting and thrilling experience without the carbon footprint. The Polestar Engineered range uses our Twin-Engine Hybrid technology that couples a 2.0L petrol engine with an 87 bhp electric motor capable of silent zero emission travel.

Dynamic chassis

​Performance suspension components made by Öhlins,​ feature a dual flow shock that allows the car to react to the surface much quicker than standard suspension. An aluminium strut-tower brace, as found on the almighty Polestar 1 adds stiffness to the front end keeping the car level. This enables the car to flow through corners with precision and confidence.

Engineering excellence

Specially forged lightweight alloy wheels give the car responsive handling, and a predictable grip and striking look. Hiding behind them are huge six piston, cast Monoblock Brembo brake callipers, painted gold, clamping down on 371mm ventilated performance discs providing exceptional stopping force in all conditions.​
